Wayanad is a picturesque hill station in Kerala, located about 76 km from Kozhikode. The place offers a perfect mix of adventure, culture and natural beauty. This 2-day itinerary will help you explore the best of Wayanad, including its tea and spice plantations, wildlife sanctuaries, waterfalls, and ancient caves.

  1. Day 1: Exploring the Tea and Spice Plantations
    2 hours 30 minutes (70 km) from Kozhikode

    In the morning, head to the Pookode Lake, a natural freshwater lake known for its scenic beauty. You can enjoy boating or a nature walk around the lake. Afternoon, visit the Soochipara Falls, a beautiful three-tiered waterfall that offers an amazing view. Finally, visit the Tea and Spice Plantations to learn about the cultivation and processing of tea and spices. Take a guided tour of the plantation, and don't forget to taste the tea and spices.

  2. Day 2: Wildlife and Caves
    1 hour 30 minutes (42 km) from Kalpetta

    In the morning, visit the Wayanad Wildlife Sanctuary, which houses a variety of rare and endangered species of flora and fauna. Take a jeep safari or trek through the sanctuary to spot elephants, tigers, leopards, and deer. Afternoon, visit the Edakkal Caves, which are believed to be over 8,000 years old. In the evening, visit the Jain Temple at Sultan Bathery, an ancient temple that is a testament to Wayanad's rich cultural heritage.
