Dates are flexible. This day-by-day plan is provisional until you choose exact travel dates.
Start at Roma Termini around 7:00 pm and take Metro B towards Laurentina to Colosseo. The ride itself is only a few minutes; allow 15–20 minutes for finding the platform, waiting and getting out at street level. A single urban metro ticket is usually around €1.50, but check the current fare before you travel. You’ll emerge right beside the Colosseum—the interior is generally closed by this hour, so plan to enjoy the illuminated exterior and viewpoints around the piazza instead. Give yourself about 45 minutes for photos and a relaxed circuit.
From the Colosseum, walk into Monti for dinner at Pizzeria Alle Carrette; allow roughly 10–15 minutes on foot and about 75 minutes to sit down and enjoy a full pizza. Budget around €10–20 per person, depending on your order. After dinner, head to Fatamorgana Monti for a scoop of gelato, then spend a little time wandering Monti’s lanes—check the shop’s hours on the day, as they can vary. Together, gelato and a gentle stroll make a good finish without rushing the evening.
Leave the Colosseo area by about 10:45 pm and take Metro B back to Termini; the ride is brief, but allow extra time for the station walk and waiting. This gives you a comfortable buffer before your 11:30 pm deadline. Metro closing times depend on the day, so check the last-train information before setting out; if service is disrupted or you miss it, a taxi is the simplest fallback.
