Dates are flexible. This day-by-day plan is provisional until you choose exact travel dates.
Take Metro B from Termini to Colosseo; allow about 20 minutes for the ride and station access. The Colosseum interior will likely be closed, but its illuminated exterior is the evening’s main event—walk around the outer viewpoints and leave time for photos. Admission isn’t needed to enjoy the outside.
From the Colosseum, stroll along Via dei Fori Imperiali, where the ruins glow against the night sky. It’s roughly a 30-minute wander at an easy pace; the archaeological sites themselves are generally closed, so enjoy the views from the boulevard. Continue to Piazza Venezia for the lively evening atmosphere and a look at the Vittoriano from the square.
Walk about 15–20 minutes through the historic center to the Trevi Fountain. It’s busy even after dark, so take a few minutes to find a spot where you can actually appreciate the lighting before moving on. Then head to L’Antica Pizzeria da Michele near Trevi for a full Neapolitan pizza; budget roughly €12–20 per person, and allow about an hour to sit down and eat. Check the restaurant’s current hours and last seating before setting out, as they can vary.
Leave the restaurant by about 10:45 pm and walk to Barberini for Metro A to Termini. The ride is short, but allow 25–35 minutes for the walk, station access, and waiting; check the final train time that evening and switch to a taxi if the metro is no longer running. This keeps your return within the 11:30 pm deadline without trying to squeeze in extra stops.
