Singapore City Stay

Day 1 · Sat, Oct 10
Singapore

Explore Singapore

  1. Gardens by the Bay — Marina Bay; explore the Supertree Grove and conservatories, allowing ~2–3 hours in the morning.
  2. Marina Bay Sands — Marina Bay; take in the striking architecture and bay views, allowing ~1 hour around midday.
  3. ArtScience Museum — Marina Bay Sands; visit a current exhibition in its distinctive lotus-shaped building, allowing ~1.5 hours in the afternoon.
  4. Merlion Park — Downtown Core; enjoy the classic waterfront views and Singapore’s best-known photo stop, allowing ~30–45 minutes.
  5. Lau Pa Sat — Downtown Core; sample Singaporean hawker favourites for dinner, with roughly S$10–25 per person and ~1–1.5 hours.

Morning

Start at Gardens by the Bay when the paid conservatories open, generally around 9am; allow 2–3 hours for the Flower Dome and Cloud Forest, and check the official site for current ticket prices and exhibition details. The Supertree Grove is free to explore, though the elevated OCBC Skyway costs extra. It’s a big, exposed site, so bring water and save the conservatories for the hotter part of the morning. From the gardens, follow the waterfront toward Marina Bay Sands—about a 15–20-minute walk—or take a short taxi if the heat is wearing you down.

Midday and afternoon

Spend about an hour taking in Marina Bay Sands’ striking architecture and bay views, then have a relaxed lunch in the mall’s food court or one of its cafés before heading to the ArtScience Museum. Set aside around 1.5 hours for a current exhibition; the museum usually opens daily from 10am to 7pm, with last entry around 6pm, but exhibition schedules and ticket prices vary, so check ahead. The lotus-shaped building is especially photogenic from the waterfront promenade.

Evening

Walk about 15–20 minutes around the bay to Merlion Park for 30–45 minutes of waterfront views and the classic photo stop; late afternoon light is lovely, though expect company on a Saturday. Continue on foot to Lau Pa Sat—roughly another 15–20 minutes—or take a short taxi. It’s a lively choice for dinner: try local favourites such as satay, chicken rice or laksa, and budget about S$10–25 per person. Stalls keep different hours, but dinner is a busy time; if the satay street stalls are operating, follow your nose along the outdoor stretch.
