Dates are flexible. This day-by-day plan is provisional until you choose exact travel dates.
Start at Himachal Tourism’s Hadimba Devi Temple in the cedar forest of Old Manali; arrive around opening, usually 8 a.m., for a quieter look at the pagoda-style shrine. Allow about an hour. Entry is generally free, though offerings and any photography charges are extra. Walk a few minutes along Hadimba Road to The Himalayan for a relaxed drink or meal; budget roughly ₹500–1,500 per person, and check restaurant hours ahead if you’re counting on a full meal.
Continue to Manu Temple in Old Manali. The uphill approach takes around 25–35 minutes on foot from the Hadimba Road area, with uneven, steep sections, so wear shoes with grip and leave time to catch your breath. Allow about an hour for the walk and visit; temple access can vary around ceremonies, so be respectful and check locally if you’re unsure. Then head down toward the river for a leisurely meal at The Lazy Dog—allow around 1.5 hours and ₹700–1,500 per person. Its riverside setting makes this a good place to linger rather than rush.
Finish with an easy browse and stroll along Mall Road, Manali. From The Lazy Dog, expect roughly 15–25 minutes by taxi or auto-rickshaw depending on traffic; walking takes longer and includes uphill stretches on the way back toward central Manali. Shops typically stay open into the evening, but hours vary, especially outside busy periods. Leave about an hour to browse, and keep a little cash for small purchases and local snacks.
