Dates are flexible. This day-by-day plan is provisional until you choose exact travel dates.
Take an overnight train from Bengaluru toward Udupi, or a bus if its arrival point and timing suit your stay better. Allow roughly 10–14 hours door to door, including getting to your departure point, check-in, and the onward transfer from Udupi railway station or bus stand. Choose a service scheduled to arrive in the morning, and verify current timetables before booking; a prepaid taxi or app cab is the easiest way to reach your accommodation and then Car Street.
At Udupi Sri Krishna Matha, allow 1.5–2 hours, with extra time for queues and the temple’s visiting arrangements. Darshan access and timings can vary, so check directly with the temple before setting out; dress modestly and follow local guidance on footwear and belongings. Then walk to neighboring Anantheshwara Temple for 30–45 minutes. The temples are close together, so there’s no need to arrange a separate ride.
Stop at Mitra Samaj on Car Street for a classic vegetarian meal—dosa is a favorite—with about ₹150–₹350 per person as a useful budget; hours can vary, so check locally if you arrive late. After lunch, take a taxi or auto-rickshaw to Malpe Beach (roughly 10–20 minutes, depending on traffic; agree on the fare or confirm the meter before leaving). Spend 1–2 hours by the water, then arrange a ride back to your stay. Keep the evening unhurried after the overnight trip.
