Nature Lover's Itinerary for Wayanad in June 2023

  1. Day 1: Banasura Sagar Dam
    40 minutes (20.8 km) from Kalpetta

    In the morning, visit the Banasura Sagar Dam, the second-largest earth dam in Asia. Take a guided tour of the dam and learn about its history and construction. Enjoy a spectacular view of the surrounding mountains and forests from the dam. Afternoon, you can take a 2-hour trek to the nearby Banasura Hill, which offers panoramic views of the surrounding valleys. In the evening, go for a boat ride on the dam's reservoir and admire the sunset.

  2. Day 2: Chembra Peak
    1 hour 10 minutes (28.8 km) from Banasura Sagar Dam

    Start your day early with a hike to the Chembra Peak, the highest peak in Wayanad. The trek takes around 3 hours and offers stunning views of the surrounding hills and forests. Afternoon, visit the nearby Soochipara Waterfalls, a 3-tiered waterfall located in a dense forest. Enjoy a refreshing dip in the pool below the falls.
