In the morning, visit the Kedarnath Temple, one of the most important pilgrimage sites for Hindus. The temple is dedicated to Lord Shiva and is located at an altitude of 3,583 meters above sea level. After a hearty lunch, trek to Vasuki Tal, a high altitude lake located about 6 km from Kedarnath. Enjoy the scenic beauty of the lake and surrounding mountains. In the evening, return to Kedarnath and witness the evening aarti at the Kedarnath Temple.
In the morning, drive to Sonprayag, a small town located at the confluence of Basuki and Mandakini rivers. From Sonprayag, embark on a trek to Triyuginarayan Temple, which is believed to be the place where Lord Shiva and Parvati got married. After returning to Sonprayag, visit Gaurikund, another important pilgrimage site. It is believed that Goddess Parvati meditated here to win Lord Shiva's heart. In the evening, return to Kedarnath.
If you have extra time, you can visit the Gandhi Sarovar, a glacial lake located at a distance of 16 km from Kedarnath. You can also take a helicopter ride to enjoy the aerial view of the Himalayas. Other local attractions include Shankaracharya Samadhi, Bhairav Temple, and Ukhimath. If you are interested in adventure sports, you can go for camping, trekking, and rock climbing in the nearby areas. For side trips, you can visit Badrinath, Gangotri, and Yamunotri, which are also important pilgrimage sites. To maximize your fun, try the local cuisine and indulge in some shopping for souvenirs.
