After landing, we'll head to our hotel in Montego Bay. Check-in and relax on the nearby Doctor's Cave Beach, known for its crystal-clear waters and white sand. In the evening, we'll explore the Hip Strip and enjoy some Jamaican cuisine at Margaritaville.
We'll start with a boat tour of Glistening Waters, where the water glows at night. After that, we'll head to the Rose Hall Great House, a Georgian mansion that's rumored to be haunted. Take a guided tour and learn about the legend of the White Witch of Rose Hall.
This day starts with a road trip to Ocho Rios, where we hike the beautiful Dunn’s River Falls. The falls are terraced so we can climb to the top and enjoy the beautiful views of the crystal-clear water. After the falls, we’ll check out Ocho Rios’ market, grab some souvenirs, and enjoy a nice meal before heading back to the hotel.
Today we'll visit the Blue Hole Mineral Spring, located in the hills of Ocho Rios. Take a dive into the clear mineral water of the sinkhole, if you dare. Afterward, we will venture an hour south to the Pelican Bar. This is a unique spot built on stilts, in the middle of the sea. We'll have fresh seafood, cocktails and relax some time with a swim.
We'll explore Negril and spend the day relaxing and soaking up the sun on Jamaica's famous Seven-Mile Beach. In the afternoon, we'll visit Rick's Cafe, known for its beautiful views, delicious food, and world-famous cliff diving. Catch the sunset on this terrace with a live band and dance to some reggae.
We'll head to the South side of Jamaica to explore the Black river, a quant town with a resident crocodile population. Take a boat tour to see hundreds of species of birds, reptiles, and other wildlife. After that, we'll visit YS Falls, a series of cascading natural waterfalls, and swimming holes. We'll wrap up the day back at Montego Bay hotel for a good night's sleep.
Before saying goodbye to Jamaica, we'll have one last meal by the beach and relax until it's time to pack up and head back to Sangster International Airport for our flight back home.
A rental car is recommended for getting around Jamaica, but be sure to drive on the left side of the road. Taxis and shuttles services are also available, but make sure to agree on a price beforehand. A private driver is also an option if you want to ensure comfortable transportation stress-free. Make sure to allow plenty of extra time for traffic and local road conditions.
If you have more time, consider taking a trip to the undiscovered South coast, where communities are less developed but teeming with nature-based activities. Or, choose to visit Kingston, the birthplace of Bob Marley and the vibrant center of Jamaica's music scene. If you have less time, consider skipping Ocho Rios or the South Coast and staying in Montego Bay or Negril. Remember, in Jamaica, partying begins and ends late, do not be surprised to come across closed businesses, but no need to worry too much, there's always something else to do.
Sangster International Airport (MBJ) is the main airport serving Montego Bay, and many airlines offer flights directly. It's situated about two miles from the city center and has many transportation options like shuttle, taxi's, and car rentals. Donald Sangster used to be the previous name of Sangster International Airport.
