Transportation

For optimal flexibility, we suggest using Boston's subway system, known as the "T". It's easily accessible and inexpensive, with one-way fares starting at $2.40. Taxis and ridesharing apps are available as well but could be more expensive depending on your destination. To save time and cover more ground, you may rent a bicycle, as many public space and commercial places encourage cycling.

Helpful Tips

If you have extra day(s), consider exploring Boston's nearby cities like Cambridge and Somerville, or take a day trip to Plymouth or Salem. If you have fewer days, shorten your "must-visit" location list, or exclude it altogether, and add or extend Boston Common strolls to other parks, including the Charles River Esplanade or Arnold Arboretum. Do not forget to book your museum tours or activities ahead of time, and bring light jackets during the colder months.

Airports

Boston Logan International Airport (BOS) is situated in East Boston, four miles from Downtown Boston. Taxi and private transport, car rentals as well as public transit are available throughout the airport to travel to and from the airport.
