3-Day Itinerary for Darjeeling in July 2023

  1. Day 1: Tiger Hill Sunrise
    20 minutes (5 miles) from Darjeeling town

    Early morning, head to Tiger Hill to view the sunrise. At an elevation of 8482 ft, the panoramic view of the sun rising over the Himalayas is an unforgettable sight. Afterward, visit the Ghoom Monastery and Batasia Loop. In the afternoon, visit the Himalayan Mountaineering Institute and the Padmaja Naidu Himalayan Zoological Park. The zoo houses rare and endangered species like snow leopard, red panda, Tibetan wolf, and Himalayan black bear. In the evening, take a stroll around the Mall Road and enjoy some hot Darjeeling tea.

  2. Day 2: Darjeeling Tea Estate Tour
    30 minutes (7 miles) from Darjeeling town

    Start your morning with a visit to Happy Valley Tea Estate, one of the oldest tea estates in Darjeeling. Learn about the tea-making process and taste some of the finest Darjeeling tea. In the afternoon, visit the Peace Pagoda, a Buddhist stupa with four avatars of Lord Buddha. The pagoda offers a serene and panoramic view of the Darjeeling hills. Later, visit the Japanese Temple and the Darjeeling Observatory Hill. End your day with dinner at the famous Glenary's Bakery and Cafe.

  3. Day 3: Mirik Lake and Pashupati Market
    1 hour 45 minutes (37 miles) from Darjeeling town

    Take a scenic drive to Mirik Lake, a picturesque man-made lake surrounded by hills and pine trees. Take a boat ride on the lake or go for a walk around it. Afterward, visit the Pashupati Market, located on the India-Nepal border. The market offers a wide range of products like clothes, electronics, and handicrafts at a reasonable price. In the evening, return to Darjeeling and visit the Lloyd Botanical Garden, which has a collection of Himalayan plants and flowers. End your day with dinner at Keventer's, a popular restaurant since 1911.
