Transportation:

Tel-Aviv has a well-developed public transport system, including buses and a metro system. However, most of the places on this itinerary are within a half-hour walk or less. If you prefer, you can also take a taxi, Uber or Bolt. We recommend using a taxi app and taking advantage of shared rides to reduce costs. Taxis charge $1.30 per kilometer.

Useful Tips:

If you have more time, we recommend taking a day trip to Jerusalem, Nazareth or Haifa to experience more of Israel's cuisine. If you have less time, you can combine the visits to the Carmel Market and the Old Jaffa Flea Market into one day. Both places tend to have most of their vendors set up by mid-morning, so visiting before noon is recommended. Also, dress comfortably, and bring cash as not all places accept credit cards.

Airports:

Tel Aviv-Yafo Ben Gurion International Airport (TLV) is the main airport in Tel-Aviv. It is located approximately 20 kilometers (12 miles) southeast of Tel-Aviv's city center, which takes approximately 20 minutes by taxi or public transport. Another airport in Tel-Aviv is Sde Dov Airport, mostly used for domestic flights. However, this airport has been shut down for commercial operation in 2019.
