3-Day Nature Itinerary for Wayanad in July 2023

  1. Day 1: Banasura Sagar Dam
    1 hour 20 minutes (32.2 km) from Calicut International Airport

    Start your morning with a scenic drive to Banasura Sagar Dam, the largest earth dam in India. Enjoy a boat ride on the serene lake surrounded by the picturesque Western Ghats.   2. Day 2: Chembra Peak

    Get an early start to trek to the highest peak in Wayanad, Chembra Peak. The 9 km trail takes approximately 5 hours round trip and rewards you with breathtaking views of the surrounding valleys and hills. In the afternoon, visit the Kuruva Island, a group of uninhabited islands in the middle of the Kabani river that are home to rare species of flora and fauna. End your day by watching the sunset at the nearby Thirunelli Temple, an ancient temple dedicated to Lord Vishnu nestled amidst the Brahmagiri Hills.
