Gokarna Nature Itinerary - July 2023

  1. Day 1: Kudle Beach
    15 minutes (3.5 km) from Gokarna Bus Stand

    Start your day early and head to Kudle Beach, known for its stunning sunrise views. Take a leisurely walk along the beach, dip your toes in the water, or simply relax and enjoy the peace and quiet. For lunch, try some delicious seafood at one of the many beachside shacks. In the afternoon, go for a hike to Om Beach, which is about 20 minutes away. At Om Beach, you can relax, swim, or try some water sports. In the evening, head to Mahabaleshwara Temple, one of the most famous landmarks in Gokarna and catch the breathtaking sunset views from the temple.

  2. Day 2: Yana Rocks and Vibhooti Falls
    2 hours (57.5 km) from Kudle Beach

    Start early and make your way to Yana Rocks, a unique geological formation surrounded by lush green forests and streams. Enjoy a 2-hour trek through the forests to reach the rocks and marvel at their beauty. After lunch, head to Vibhooti Falls, a serene waterfall nestled amidst the greenery. Take a dip in the cool waters or simply enjoy the peaceful surroundings. In the evening, return to Gokarna and unwind at your hotel.

  3. Day 3: Gokarna Beach and Paradise Beach
    20 minutes (8 km) from Gokarna Bus Stand

    Start your day at Gokarna Beach, one of the most popular beaches in the town. Take a dip in the water, relax on the beach or try some water sports. After lunch, take a boat ride to Paradise Beach, which is only accessible by boat or a 2-hour trek through the forest. The secluded beach is a perfect place to unwind and relax. In the evening, head back to Gokarna and try some local delicacies at one of the many restaurants in the town.

Recommendations

If you have some extra time, consider visiting Mirjan Fort, which is about 30 km from Gokarna. The fort is surrounded by moats and palm trees and is a great place to explore. You can also visit the Koti Tirtha, a natural pond, and the Ganesh Temple, which is believed to be the oldest temple in the town. For those who love adventure, you can go on a trek to Kumta and explore the caves and waterfalls along the way. Don't forget to pack sunscreen, hats, and comfortable shoes for the treks.
