Two-Day Family Friendly Itinerary for Ooty in June 2023

  1. Day 1: Ooty Lake
    10 minutes (3.2 km) from Ooty Bus Stand

    Start your day at Ooty Lake, a serene and picturesque lake surrounded by eucalyptus trees. You can enjoy a refreshing boat ride or enjoy a leisurely stroll around the lake. In the afternoon, visit the Botanical Garden, which is home to a variety of exotic plants, ferns, and shrubs. You can also find a fossilized tree that is believed to be over 20 million years old. End your day at the Government Rose Garden, which boasts of over 20,000 varieties of roses. You can also find other flowers like marigold, dahlia, and hibiscus.

  2. Day 2: Doddabetta Peak
    30 minutes (8.6 km) from Ooty Lake

    Start your day at Doddabetta Peak, the highest peak in the Nilgiri Mountains. You can enjoy a stunning panoramic view of the surrounding valleys and hills from the peak. Next, visit the Thread Garden, which features an impressive collection of flowers and plants made entirely from thread. In the afternoon, head to the Tribal Museum to learn about the history and culture of the indigenous tribes of the Nilgiris. End your day at the Chocolate Factory, where you can sample and purchase a variety of locally-made chocolates.
