The beach is surrounded by lush greenery and offers breathtaking views of the Bay of Bengal on one side and the Indian Ocean on the other. In the afternoon, head to Pamban Bridge, the longest rail bridge in India, which connects Rameswaram to mainland India. Take a train ride or walk along the bridge to enjoy the stunning views of the sea. In the evening, visit the Ramanathaswamy Temple, one of the most important Hindu temples in the country. The temple is known for its intricate architecture and is believed to have been built by Lord Rama himself.

Recommendations

If you have an extra day, consider visiting Adam's Bridge, also known as Rama Setu, a chain of limestone shoals connecting India and Sri Lanka. You can also visit the Rameswaram Bird Sanctuary, home to a wide variety of migratory birds. For those interested in history, the Gandhamadhana Parvatham, a hillock located near Rameswaram, is believed to be the place where Lord Rama's feet touched the ground. You can also take a day trip to the nearby town of Mandapam, which has a beautiful beach and a historical church. To maximize your fun, try the local cuisine, which includes seafood, dum biryani, and South Indian delicacies. Don't forget to buy souvenirs, such as seashell jewelry and handicrafts, from the local shops. Finally, make sure to book your hotel and flights in advance to avoid any last-minute hassles.
