In the morning, visit the holy Kedarnath Temple, one of the Char Dhams in India. This temple dedicated to Lord Shiva is situated at the height of 3,583 meters above sea level. Experience the spiritual vibes of the temple and offer your prayers. In the afternoon, have lunch at any of the nearby local restaurants and try some authentic Garhwali cuisine. Spend the evening exploring the town and shopping for souvenirs.
Start your day early and head towards Gandhi Sarovar, a beautiful lake located at a distance of 6.5 km from Kedarnath Temple. The trek is moderately difficult, but the breathtaking view of the snow-capped Himalayan ranges and the lush green meadows on the way are worth it. Enjoy a picnic lunch at the lake while taking in the serene beauty of nature. In the evening, return to your hotel and relax.
Today, visit the pristine Vasuki Tal, a high altitude lake situated at an elevation of 4,150 meters. The trek to the lake is challenging, but the stunning views of the surrounding mountains and the crystal clear water of the lake make it worth the effort. Carry your lunch and enjoy a picnic by the lakeside. Return to Kedarnath by evening and spend some time relaxing at your hotel.
While in Kedarnath, you can also visit the Bhairav Temple and Triyuginarayan Temple, both located within a 10 km radius of the city. If you have an extra day, you can take a side trip to the nearby town of Guptakashi and visit the Gaurikund Temple and the Manikarnik Kund. To maximize your fun, we recommend carrying comfortable trekking shoes, warm clothes, and a water bottle on your treks. Also, keep some cash handy as most of the local shops and eateries do not accept cards.
