Recommendations

Other local attractions that you can consider visiting are the Silk Farm, which offers an interesting insight into the process of silk production, and the Montfort School, a heritage building with beautiful architecture. For side trips, you can visit Salem, a bustling city that is just 22 km from Yercaud. You can also consider a visit to the Kottachedu Teak Forest, which is about 25 km from Yercaud. To maximize your fun, try the local cuisine, which includes dishes made with bamboo shoots, jackfruit, and millets. Don't forget to buy some homemade chocolates, spices, and tea as souvenirs to take back home. Lastly, try to avoid visiting during the monsoon season (June to September) as the weather can be unpredictable and it might not be safe to visit the waterfalls and other outdoor attractions.
