5-Day Family-Friendly Itinerary for Darjeeling in June 2023

  1. Day 1: Tiger Hill

Recommendations

If you have time, consider taking a day trip to the nearby town of Kalimpong, about an hour's drive from Darjeeling, to explore the bustling market and see the beautiful flower nurseries. You can also visit the Durpin Monastery, the Zang Dhok Palri Phodang Monastery, and the Kalimpong Science Centre.

Another must-see attraction is the Darjeeling Himalayan Railway, also known as the Toy Train, a UNESCO World Heritage site that offers a scenic ride through the mountains. You can take a joyride from Darjeeling to Ghum and back.

To make your trip more enjoyable, pack comfortable clothes and shoes, a hat, sunscreen, and sunglasses. Also, carry enough cash as most places do not accept cards. And don't forget to try the famous Darjeeling tea, available at local tea shops and restaurants.
