Recommendations

Aside from the itinerary above, you can also consider visiting the Wagah Border Museum, where artefacts related to the India-Pakistan War of 1971 are displayed. Dalhousie in Himachal Pradesh, McLeod Ganj, and Dharamshala in the neighbouring state of Himachal Pradesh are great side trips. To maximize your fun, take a food tour of Amritsar, taste delicacies like Amritsari Kulcha, Lassi, and Phirni. It's also recommended that you plan your trip during the monsoon season (July - September) to experience the beauty of the city in the rains.
