Chembra Peak, the highest peak in Wayanad, is a popular destination known for its heart-shaped lake. The trek to the top takes around 3-4 hours and is moderately challenging, it’s recommended to start the trek early in the morning. Enjoy the breathtaking views of the surrounding hills and forests en route. You can have lunch at the peak or take a packed lunch. After spending the morning here, head to Pookode Lake, a beautiful freshwater lake situated amidst the lush green forest. Take a paddle-boat ride or go for a nature walk around the lake. In the evening, visit the Edakkal Caves and discover the prehistoric rock art and engravings. The caves are open from 9:30 AM to 4:30 PM.
Start the day by visiting the Banasura Sagar Dam, the second-largest earthen dam in Asia, situated amidst the mesmerizing hills of Wayanad. Enjoy the serene views of the reservoir and take a speedboat ride to the small islands in the middle of the reservoir. After spending the morning here, head to the Wayanad Wildlife Sanctuary. Go on a safari and explore the flora and fauna of the sanctuary, which includes elephants, tigers, leopards, and various bird species. In the evening, visit the Soochipara Waterfalls, a three-tiered waterfall, and take a refreshing dip in the cool waters. The falls are open from 9:00 AM to 5:00 PM.
