3-Day Wayanad Itinerary for Motorcycle Riding Enthusiasts in July 2023

  1. Day 1: Chembra Peak
    40 minutes (13.3 miles) from Kalpetta

    In the morning, arrive at Chembra Peak, the highest peak in Wayanad. Enjoy a challenging 4 km trek to the top, where you will be rewarded with stunning views of the valley below. Pack a picnic lunch to enjoy at the peak. In the afternoon, ride to the Banasura Sagar Dam, the largest earthen dam in India. Take a speedboat ride or kayak on the reservoir.   2. Day 2: Kuruva Island
    1 hour (28 miles) from Sulthan Bathery

    Start your day by riding to Kuruva Island, a serene river island located in the middle of the Kabini River. Enjoy a 2 km trek through the lush forest and spot exotic birds and butterflies. Take a dip in the river or go bamboo rafting. In the afternoon, ride to the Muthanga Wildlife Sanctuary, a protected area home to elephants, deer, and tigers. Take a guided Jeep safari and spot wildlife in their natural habitat. In the evening, relax at the Pookode Lake and enjoy the scenic views of the Western Ghats.

  3. Day 3: Thirunelli Temple
    1 hour 20 minutes (41.8 miles) from Vythiri

    Ride to the Thirunelli Temple, an ancient temple located amidst the Brahmagiri hills. Take a dip in the nearby Papanasini river, known for its purifying properties. In the afternoon, ride to the Wayanad Heritage Museum, where you can learn about the history and culture of Wayanad. In the evening, head to the Neelimala Viewpoint, where you can watch the sunset over the Western Ghats.

Don't miss out on the Soochipara Waterfalls, a beautiful waterfall where you can take a dip in the refreshing water.
