5-Day Cultural Immersion Itinerary in Vrindavan for August 2023

  1. Day 1: Prem Mandir
    5 minutes (0.8 miles) from Krishna-Balaram Mandir

    Morning: Start your cultural immersion by visiting the breathtaking Prem Mandir. This marble temple is adorned with intricate carvings of Radha Krishna's pastimes and illuminated with thousands of lights at night. The temple also has a beautiful garden and a musical fountain show.

    Afternoon: Satisfy your taste buds with authentic Indian cuisine at Bikanerwala. Try their mouth-watering chaat, chole bhature, and lassi.

    Evening: Take a walk to the Iskcon Temple and attend the aarti ceremony, where devotees sing and dance to glorify Lord Krishna and Radha.

  2. Day 2: Banke Bihari Temple
    10 minutes (1.2 miles) from Prem Mandir

    Morning: Visit the famous Banke Bihari Temple, where you can see the deity of Lord Krishna in his blackish form. The temple has a unique architecture and is beautifully decorated during festivals.

    Afternoon: Treat yourself with some shopping at the local markets, where you can find handicrafts, textiles, jewellery, and other traditional items.

    Evening: Attend the Sandhya Aarti at Radha Raman Temple, where the pujaris perform aarti with 1008 lamps.

  3. Day 3: Radha Vallabh Temple
    15 minutes (1.5 miles) from Banke Bihari Temple

    Morning: Explore the beautiful Radha Vallabh Temple, which was established by the great saint Hita Harivamsa Goswami. The temple has a unique deity of Radha Krishna, where Radha is standing in front of Krishna.

    Afternoon: Enjoy a delicious thali at the iconic Shri Radha Bhojnalaya, which serves authentic Braj cuisine.

    Evening: Take a stroll at the Yamuna river bank and enjoy the serene atmosphere.

  4. Day 4: Nidhivan
    20 minutes (2.3 miles) from Radha Vallabh Temple

    Morning: Visit the mysterious Nidhivan, where it is believed that Lord Krishna performs his Rasleela with Radha and the Gopis every night. The place is surrounded by beautiful trees and has a divine atmosphere.

    Afternoon: Have a picnic at Seva Kunj, a beautiful garden where Radha Krishna used to perform their pastimes.

    Evening: Attend the mesmerising light and sound show at Kesi Ghat, which narrates the stories of Lord Krishna's pastimes in Vrindavan.

  5. Day 5: Rangaji Temple
    15 minutes (1.9 miles) from Nidhivan

    Morning: Visit the Rangaji Temple, which is the largest temple in Vrindavan and has a unique architecture. The temple has a deity of Lord Ranganatha or Lord Vishnu resting on the Shesha Nag.

    Afternoon: Visit the Goshala and spend some time with the cows, which are considered sacred in Hinduism. You can also take part in feeding them.

    Evening: Attend the Kirtan at the Madan Mohan Temple, where you can sing and dance to devotional songs and get immersed in the love of Radha Krishna.

Recommendations

Don't miss the opportunity to take part in the parikrama, a circumambulation of the holy places of Vrindavan. You can also visit Mathura, the birthplace of Lord Krishna, which is just 15 km from Vrindavan. The best time to visit Vrindavan is during the festivals of Holi and Janmashtami.
