Two Days in Mathura and Vrindavan

  1. Day 1: Mathura

    Mathura is a city of great religious and historic importance. Visit the Shri Krishna Janmasthan Temple which marks the birthplace of Lord Krishna. Witness the priests performing the morning aarti and join the crowd in singing hymns to Lord Krishna. After breakfast, visit the Mathura Museum and explore the vast collection of sculptures and artifacts from the Gupta and Kushan periods. After lunch, head to the Dwarkadhish Temple, one of the most visited temples in Mathura, which dates back to the 16th century. In the evening, visit the Vishram Ghat and take a boat ride on the Yamuna river. Witness the evening aarti and immerse yourself in the divine atmosphere.

  2. Day 2: Vrindavan
    20 minutes (10 miles) from Mathura

    Vrindavan is known for its numerous temples and ashrams. Start your day with a visit to the Banke Bihari Temple, one of the oldest and most famous temples in Vrindavan. Witness the morning aarti and experience the spiritual energy of the temple. After breakfast, visit the Prem Mandir, a stunning temple and monument of love which showcases the eternal love of Radha and Krishna. After lunch, head to the ISKCON temple, also known as the Krishna Balaram Mandir. This temple is not only famous for its beautiful architecture but also for its delicious prasad (offered food). End your day with a visit to the Kesi Ghat, a peaceful place where Lord Krishna is believed to have grazed his cows.

If you have time, visit the Gita Mandir in Mathura which houses a unique museum showcasing the 18 chapters of the Bhagavad Gita. You can also visit the Radha Kund and the Shyam Kund, two sacred ponds in Vrindavan. For a side trip, visit Agra and witness the magnificent Taj Mahal.
