In the morning, visit the famous Kedarnath Temple, one of the 12 Jyotirlingas of Lord Shiva. The temple is located at an altitude of 3583 meters and surrounded by snow-capped peaks. Afternoon is the best time to take a dip in the holy water of Gauri Kund nearby the temple. In the evening, witness the spectacular evening aarti and seek blessings of Lord Shiva.
Embark on a trek to Vasuki Tal, located at an elevation of 4,135 meters. The trek is moderately difficult but offers mesmerizing views of the snow-clad mountains and the Vasuki Tal Lake. In the afternoon, have a picnic by the lake or continue trekking to Satopanth Tal. In the evening, return to Kedarnath and relax at your hotel.
Begin the day with a trek to Chorabari Tal, also known as Gandhi Sarovar after Mahatma Gandhi. On your last day, visit Sonprayag, a beautiful village located on the banks of Mandakini river. In the afternoon, explore the village and try local delicacies at the street vendors. In the evening, return to Kedarnath and prepare for your departure.
Do not miss out on the Kedarnath Wildlife Sanctuary, located a few kilometers from the Kedarnath Temple. You can spot various species of wildlife including musk-deer and snow-leopard. Consider taking a helicopter ride from Phata to Kedarnath to witness the breathtaking aerial views of the mountains.
