7-Day Coimbatore Munnar Itinerary for Motorcycle Riding in July 2023

  1. Day 1: Coimbatore

    Start your journey from Coimbatore and take a ride to the beautiful hill station of Munnar. You can stop for breakfast on the way at one of the many local diners.

  2. Day 2: Marayur Sandalwood Forests
    1 hour 30 minutes (42 miles) from Munnar

    Start your day early and ride to the Marayur Sandalwood Forests, one of the only sandalwood forests in India. Go for a morning walk in the forest and explore the flora and fauna. Afternoon, take a short ride to the Marayur Jaggery Unit and learn about the jaggery-making process. In the evening, you can relax and enjoy the beautiful sunset at the Chinnar Wildlife Sanctuary.

  3. Day 3: Top Station
    1 hour 5 minutes (25 miles) from Marayur Sandalwood Forests

    Today ride to Top Station, one of the highest points in Munnar. Take a walk through the tea plantations and enjoy the scenic view of the Western Ghats. In the evening, visit the Kundala dam and go for a boat ride. You can stop for lunch at one of the many local restaurants on the way.

  4. Day 4: Mattupetty Dam
    45 minutes (14 miles) from Top Station

    Ride to Mattupetty Dam and enjoy the scenic beauty of the place. You can go for a speed boating or a motor boating activity. Afternoon, you can visit the Echo Point and shout out your name to hear it come back to you. In the evening, enjoy the traditional Kathakali dance performance at the Punarjani Traditional Village.

  5. Day 5: Eravikulam National Park
    30 minutes (9 miles) from Mattupetty Dam

    Today, visit the Eravikulam National Park and go for a trek to the Anamudi Peak, the highest peak in South India. Spot the Nilgiri Tahr, a rare species of mountain goat, and enjoy the panoramic view of the park. You can stop for lunch at the park canteen. Evening is free to relax and explore the local markets.

  6. Day 6: Tea Museum and Factory
    30 minutes (9 miles) from Eravikulam National Park

    Today, visit the Tea Museum and Factory and learn about the history and process of making tea. Taste some fresh tea and buy some for yourself. Afternoon, take a ride to the Attukad Waterfalls and enjoy the view of the waterfall. You can stop for lunch at the Saravana Bhavan restaurant. In the evening, enjoy a campfire and a barbecue dinner at the Camp Noel resort.

  7. Day 7: Chinnar Wildlife Sanctuary
    2 hours (54 miles) from Tea Museum and Factory

    On the last day, ride to the Chinnar Wildlife Sanctuary and take a guided tour of the place. Spot the endangered Grizzled Giant Squirrel and the Indian Star Tortoise. Afternoon, visit the Thoovanam Waterfalls and take a dip in the fresh water. In the evening, ride back to Coimbatore and end your trip.
