In the morning, take a stroll through the Ooty Botanical Gardens, a 55-acre garden filled with rare flowers, ferns and shrubs. You can also see a fossil tree trunk believed to be 20 million years old. After a relaxing morning, head to The Paradise at Hotel Vinayaga Inn for some delicious South Indian cuisine. In the afternoon, head to the Emerald Lake – a serene place amidst the natural beauty. You can hire a boat and paddle around the calm waters. In the evening, visit the Deer Park where you can spot some deer and rabbits or simply walk around and enjoy the fresh air.
Start your day with a visit to the Doddabetta Peak, the highest mountain peak in the Nilgiri Hills. You can take a scenic drive or trek up to the summit for a panoramic view of the surrounding valleys. After a morning of fresh air, head to the Tea Factory and Museum to learn about the tea-making process and taste some of the best locally made tea. For lunch, go to the Sidewalk Café for some delicious sandwiches and coffee. In the afternoon, take a toy train ride on the Nilgiri Mountain Railway which passes through the beautiful scenery of the Nilgiri Hills. In the evening, take a romantic walk through the Ooty Lake.
Don’t miss out on the thrill of a lifetime – try paragliding at Kalhatty. You can also take a day trip to Coonoor to see the Hidden Valley, Sim’s Park and the Dolphin’s Nose viewpoint. If you’re up for a longer trip, check out the Mudumalai National Park which is a 2-hour drive from Ooty.
