Two-Day Wayanad Itinerary in September 2023

  1. Day 1: Explore the Natural Wonders
    20 minutes (12.5 km) from Kalpetta

    In the morning, visit the Chembra Peak, the highest peak in Wayanad. The trek to the summit takes around 3-4 hours but provides breathtaking views of the surrounding hills and valleys. In the afternoon, head to the Meenmutty Falls which is a three-tiered waterfall that cascades down from a height of 300 meters. You can take a dip in the cool waters and relax amidst the scenic beauty. In the evening, visit the Edakkal Caves, an archaeological wonder with ancient inscriptions on the walls dating back to the Neolithic era.

  2. Day 2: Cultural Experience
    15 minutes (7.5 km) from Sulthan Bathery

    Start off your day by visiting the Banasura Sagar Dam, the second-largest earth dam in Asia. You can go boating on the reservoir or take a walk around the gardens. In the afternoon, visit the Wayanad Heritage Museum to learn about the region's rich heritage and culture. The museum has a vast collection of artifacts including ancient weapons, tribal relics, and household items. In the evening, catch a traditional Kalari Payattu performance, an ancient martial art form of Kerala.
