Two-Day Itinerary for Coorg in July 2023

  1. Day 1: Explore Coorg's Nature
    30 minutes (20 miles) from Coorg International Airport

    In the morning, head to the Abbey Falls, one of the most popular waterfalls in Coorg. Spend a peaceful afternoon at the Raja's Seat, a garden that offers a beautiful view of Coorg's hills. Wrap up the day by visiting the Dubare Elephant Camp, where you can learn about the lives of elephants and even participate in feeding them.

  2. Day 2: Coorg's Culture and History
    20 minutes (10 miles) from Coorg City Centre

    Start your day with a visit to Madikeri Fort, a historical fort that was built during the reign of Mudduraja in the late 17th century. In the afternoon, head to the Namdroling Monastery, the largest Tibetan settlement in southern India, where you can witness the grandeur of Tibetan architecture and learn about their culture. In the evening, make your way to the Omkareshwara Temple, a Hindu temple that has both Islamic and Gothic architectural styles.

If you have extra time, visit the Talacauvery and Bhagamandala temples, which are believed to be the birthplaces of the river Cauvery. You can also take a coffee plantation tour to learn about the cultivation and processing of coffee in Coorg.
