Then, head into the heart of Jaipur for a walking tour of the Pink City, named for its rose-colored architecture. On day two, venture to the Nahargarh Fort, a majestic fort that offers stunning sunset views over the city. As you explore the fort, be sure to check out the wax museum and sculpture park on its premises. Next, head to the City Palace, a royal residence and museum. To get around Jaipur, taxis and auto-rickshaws are readily available. Taxis are more expensive but offer greater comfort and air-conditioning. Negotiate prices before getting into an auto-rickshaw as many drivers charge inflated prices to tourists. Expect to pay around INR 1500-2000 for a driver to take you around for the day.
If you have more time, consider visiting the Hawa Mahal, a palace with intricate honeycomb architecture, or the Jal Mahal, a palace surrounded by a lake. If you have less time, skip the walking tour of the Pink City and explore one or two of its main attractions. Remember to stay hydrated and wear comfortable shoes as you explore the forts and city.
