2-Day Motorcycle Riding Itinerary in Coorg, July 2023

  1. Day 1: Madikeri Fort
    11 minutes (3.2 km) from Coorg View Inn

    In the morning, explore the Madikeri Fort, which was first built in the late 17th century and has since been renovated and expanded. Inside you will find a beautiful palace, a small museum, and a temple. Afternoon, ride your motorcycle to the Rajaseat viewpoint for panoramic views of the Western Ghats and the rice paddies down below. End the day with a trip to the Omkareshwara Temple, a beautiful Hindu temple with Islamic-style architecture.

  2. Day 2: Abbey Falls
    1 hour 20 minutes (37 km) from Coorg View Inn

    In the morning, ride your motorcycle to the Abbey Falls, a popular waterfall in the Western Ghats. Afternoon, head to the nearby Dubare Elephant Camp to see and learn about the elephants living in the camp. End the day with a visit to the Nisargadhama Ecological Park, where you can see a variety of animals and plants, go boating, and ride an elephant.

Recommendations

Coorg is known for its coffee plantations, so consider taking a tour of one of the local plantations to see the process of coffee production. Another recommended site is the Talacauvery, the origin of the Cauvery River. If you're interested in adventure sports, try out some whitewater rafting on the Cauvery River.
