3-Day Darjeeling Itinerary in December 2023

  1. Day 1: Tiger Hill

    Early morning at 4:30am, drive to Tiger Hill to watch the mesmerizing sunrise over the Kanchenjunga Mountains. After sunrise, visit the Ghoom Monastery, the region's oldest and most famous monastery.   2. Day 2: Peace Pagoda, Tea Estate and Toy Train Ride

    Start your day with a visit to the Japanese Peace Pagoda, a symbol of unity and harmony that offers panoramic views of Darjeeling. Next, visit Happy Valley Tea Estate, one of the oldest tea plantations in Darjeeling, where you can see how tea is grown, processed, and packaged. Take a train ride on the famous Darjeeling Himalayan Railway, also known as the "Toy Train," which passes through the scenic Batasia Loop and Ghoom station. In the evening, head to the Darjeeling Observatory Hill to watch the sunset.

  3. Day 3: Mahakal Temple and Tibetan Refugee Self Help Centre

    Start your day by visiting the Mahakal Temple, dedicated to Lord Shiva and one of the most famous temples in Darjeeling. Then visit the Tibetan Refugee Self Help Centre, which was established to provide vocational training and employment opportunities to Tibetan refugees. Here, you can buy some of the finest Tibetan handicrafts and carpets. In the afternoon, take a stroll through the Darjeeling Botanical Garden, which has a wide variety of Himalayan plants and flowers. In the evening, enjoy a delicious dinner at Keventers, a local restaurant known for its momos and thukpa.
