5-Day Itinerary for Sikkim

  1. Day 1: Rumtek Monastery
    27 minutes (9.4 km) from Gangtok

    In the morning, visit the Rumtek Monastery, one of the largest monasteries in Sikkim. It is home to a beautiful golden stupa containing relics of the 16th Karmapa. In the afternoon, take a short hike to Jawaharlal Nehru Botanical Garden and enjoy the beauty of nature. In the evening, take a stroll and shop for souvenirs at MG Road.

  2. Day 2: Tsomgo Lake and Baba Mandir
    1 hour 32 minutes (38.6 km) from Gangtok

    Start your morning early with a drive to Tsomgo Lake, a stunning glacial lake surrounded by snow-capped mountains. After the lake, head to Baba Mandir, a temple dedicated to Baba Harbhajan Singh, a soldier who lost his life near the Nathu La Pass. In the evening, return to Gangtok and visit the Namgyal Institute of Tibetology.

  3. Day 3: Pelling

    Take a morning drive to Pelling, a scenic town located in the West Sikkim district. Visit the Pemayangtse Monastery, one of the oldest and most important monasteries in Sikkim.   4. Day 4: Ravangla

  5. Day 5: Yuksom
    2 hours 16 minutes (40.8 km) from Ravangla

    Take a morning drive to Yuksom, the first capital of Sikkim. Start by visiting the Dubdi Monastery, the first monastery built in Sikkim. Next, visit the Norbugang Coronation Throne, a historical monument where the first Chogyal (ruler) of Sikkim was coronated. End the day with a visit to the Kanchenjunga Falls before returning to Gangtok.
