4-Day Itinerary for Sikkim in October 2023

  1. Day 1: Gangtok

  2. Day 2: Pelling

    Start your day with a visit to the Pemayangtse Monastery, one of the oldest monasteries in Sikkim. In the afternoon, take a scenic drive to the Khecheopalri Lake, a sacred lake nestled in a beautiful forest. In the evening, visit the Rabdentse Ruins, the second capital of the former Kingdom of Sikkim.

  3. Day 3: Lachen
    6 hours (129 km) from Pelling

    Start your day early and head to the Yumthang Valley, also known as the Valley of Flowers. Marvel at the stunning views of the Himalayan Mountains and the colourful flowers in the valley. In the afternoon, visit the Lachung Monastery, a beautiful monastery perched on a hilltop. Spend the evening relaxing in your hotel room in Lachen.

  4. Day 4: Gangtok
    6 hours (107 km) from Lachen

    Start your day with a visit to the Tashi View Point, a popular viewpoint offering breathtaking views of the Kanchenjunga mountain range. In the afternoon, visit the Enchey Monastery, a beautiful monastery located on a hilltop. In the evening, visit the Namgyal Institute of Tibetology, a museum dedicated to the study of Tibetan culture and history.

Recommendations

If you have extra time, consider visiting the Nathula Pass, a mountain pass on the border of India and China.
