Ooty in July 2023: A Three-Day Itinerary

1. Day 1: Ooty Botanical Gardens
   10 minutes (3.1 km) from Ooty Lake

2. Day 2: Doddabetta Peak

   Evening: Take a stroll around Ooty Lake, just a 15-minute drive away. The lake offers boating facilities and is a popular spot for picnics.

3. Day 3: Pykara Falls
   1 hour (23 km) from Doddabetta Peak

   Morning: Visit Pykara Falls, located in the Pykara village, just an hour away from Doddabetta Peak. The falls are surrounded by lush green forests and offer a serene and peaceful atmosphere. You can take a dip in the cold water or go for a short hike around the falls.

   Afternoon: Stop by The Garden Cafe, located just a 20-minute drive from the falls, for a quick lunch.

   Evening: Visit the Government Museum, 30 minutes away from the cafe. The museum houses a vast collection of tribal artifacts, sculptures and paintings.

Recommendations

Apart from the places mentioned in the itinerary, you can also visit the Thread Garden, the Wax World Museum, and the Ooty Rose Garden. If you have more time, you can visit Coonoor, a nearby hill station, and explore its tea estates and colonial bungalows. To maximize your fun, you can go on a trek in the surrounding hills or take a ride on the Nilgiri Mountain Railway, a UNESCO world heritage site.
