The Kolaba Fort is a historical site located in the middle of the sea. Families can enjoy the ferry ride to reach the fort and spend time exploring it. After that, we will visit the Kanakeshwar forest, which is a trekking spot with a Shiva temple surrounded by lush green trees.
Nagaon Beach is a calm and secluded beach with clean water and kid-friendly waves. We can indulge in various water sports activities like Banana Boat Ride, Jet Ski, Parasailing, etc. In the evening, we will head to Varsoli Beach, which is known for its tranquil environment and clear water. It is an ideal spot for an evening stroll or just relaxing by the sea.
If you are traveling from Mumbai, you can take a ferry or speedboat from Gateway of India to Mandwa and then take a local bus or a taxi to reach Alibag. Alternatively, you can opt for a private car or bike rental. The estimated cost for a ferry ride is INR 100-150 per person and INR 700-1000 for a round trip by taxi.
If you have an extra day, you can explore the nearby beaches like Kihim Beach and Akshi Beach. You can also trek to the top of Kanakeshwar Hill to get a panoramic view of the forests and sunset. If you have less time, you can skip Varsoli Beach as it is relatively similar to Alibag Beach.
The nearest airport to Alibag is Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj International airport (BOM) situated in Mumbai, which is around 108 km away. It takes around 3-4 hours by road to reach Alibag from the airport. You can take a taxi or Bus from Mumbai to Alibag.
