2-Day Family Friendly Itinerary for Coorg in July 2023

  1. Day 1: Abbey Falls
    20 minutes (8.5 km) from Madikeri

    In the morning, visit Abbey Falls, a scenic waterfall surrounded by lush greenery. Take a short trek to the falls and enjoy the view from the hanging bridge. For lunch, try local Coorg cuisine at the nearby cafes. In the afternoon, visit the Raja's Seat, a popular viewpoint with a garden and musical fountain. In the evening, head to the Madikeri Fort, a 19th-century fort that now houses a museum showcasing the history of Coorg.

  2. Day 2: Dubare Elephant Camp
    1 hour 30 minutes (40 km) from Madikeri

    Start your day with a visit to Dubare Elephant Camp, where you can interact with elephants and learn about their behavior. Take a boat ride to the camp and enjoy the scenic route. Have lunch at the camp and then head to the nearby Nisargadhama, a beautiful island with a Deer Park and hanging bridge. In the evening, visit the Namdroling Monastery, a Tibetan Buddhist monastery with intricate murals and a golden temple.

For a day trip, visit Talacauvery and Bhagamandala, the origin of the Cauvery River. You can also go for a nature walk in the Brahmagiri Wildlife Sanctuary or visit the Chelavara Falls for a picnic.
