2-Day Family-Friendly Itinerary for Wayanad in July 2023

  1. Day 1: Edakkal Caves
    40 minutes (16.7 miles) from Kalpetta

    Start your day with a visit to the fascinating Edakkal Caves. The caves are home to ancient petroglyphs, dating back to 6000 BCE, and are located atop Ambukutty Mala hill. You will need to take a 1km uphill trek to reach the caves. Once there, take in the stunning views of the surrounding forests and mountains. After your visit, enjoy a delicious breakfast of Appam and vegetable stew at the nearby Hotel Udupi.

    In the afternoon, make your way to the Pookode Lake, a picturesque freshwater lake surrounded by forests and green hills.
