3-Day Nature Itinerary for Bangalore in July 2023

  1. Day 1: Lalbagh Botanical Garden
    20 minutes (6.4 km) from Kempegowda International Airport

    In the morning, explore the serene Lalbagh Botanical Garden, home to over 1,000 species of flora. Stroll through the picturesque gardens, taking in the stunning architecture of the glasshouse and the peacefulness of the lake. For lunch, head to MTR, a popular vegetarian restaurant in the heart of the city, and try their famous masala dosa. In the afternoon, visit the Bannerghatta Biological Park. See rescued tigers, lions and bears, and then take a safari ride through the national park. In the evening, catch the sunset at the nearby Bilikal Rangaswamy Betta hill.

  2. Day 2: Nandi Hills
    1 hour 15 minutes (60 km) from Lalbagh Botanical Garden

    Wake up early and drive to the scenic Nandi Hills. Watch the sunrise over the city from the top of the hill, and then go for a hike on the various trails. Grab breakfast at the small cafes nearby, and taste the local specialties, like piping hot vadas and idlis. In the afternoon, visit the Manchanabele Dam, a beautiful and peaceful reservoir that's perfect for a picnic. Take a boat ride, or go kayaking to explore the dam further. For dinner, head to Grasshopper, a restaurant that serves organic and farm-fresh dishes under the stars in a beautiful outdoor setting.

  3. Day 3: Shivanasamudra Falls
    2 hours 15 minutes (135 km) from Nandi Hills

    On the last day, take a day trip to Shivanasamudra Falls, located on the banks of River Kaveri. Admire the beauty of the twin waterfalls, Gaganachukki and Bharachukki, and take a refreshing dip in the river. After lunch, visit the nearby Mekedatu, a stunning gorge where River Kaveri flows through a narrow ravine. Take a coracle ride to see the gorge up close. On the way back, visit the Chunchi Falls, a scenic waterfall that's great for a quick stopover. For dinner, head to Karavalli, a popular restaurant in the city that serves the best coastal cuisine from Karnataka and Kerala.
