Udupi in June 2023: A Two-Day Itinerary

  1. Day 1: Visit To The Dazzling Temples Of Udupi
    15 minutes (3.5 km) from Malpe Beach

    In the morning, head to the famous Sri Krishna Temple, one of the most important pilgrimage sites in South India. Spend some time admiring the temple's architecture, which dates back to the 13th century. Then, head to the Ananteshwar Temple, dedicated to Lord Shiva and Gokarnatheshwara Temple, dedicated to Lord Shiva and Lord Ganesha, to explore the intricate carvings and mythological scenes depicted on the temple walls. After a quick lunch at any local eateries, visit the Chandramouleshwara Temple, one of the oldest and most beautiful temples in Udupi, with its stunning architecture and beautiful surroundings. In the evening, head to the Udupi Lighthouse to see the panoramic views of the Arabian Sea from the top.

  2. Day 2: Malpe Beach and St.Mary's Island
    30 minutes (9 km) from Udupi Sri Krishna Temple

    Spend the first half of the day relaxing on the beautiful Malpe Beach, one of the cleanest and most pristine beaches of Karnataka. Take a dip in the Arabian Sea or go on a boat ride to St. Mary's Island, a beautiful uninhabited island formed by volcanic activity and famous for its unique rock formations and clear blue waters. In the evening, explore the local fish markets and taste the local seafood delicacies at Malpe Beach. End your day with a walk along the beach and watch the sunset over the Arabian Sea.

If you have more time, don't miss the opportunity to visit the Kaup Beach, known for its lighthouse and tranquil environment. Another must-see attraction is the Manipal Museum of Anatomy and Pathology, which displays a fascinating collection of human and animal specimens. For a day trip, you can head to Kudremukh National Park, located about 100 km from Udupi, which offers breathtaking views of the Western Ghats and is home to several rare species of flora and fauna.
