2-Day Itinerary for Coorg in August 2023

  1. Day 1: Abbey Falls
    20 minutes (6.5 km) from Madikeri

    In the morning, head to Abbey Falls, one of the most popular waterfalls in Coorg. Enjoy the scenic drive through the coffee plantations and the short trek to reach the falls. Spend the afternoon exploring the Madikeri Fort, which was built in the 17th century and served as an important historical landmark. In the evening, visit the Raja's Seat, a beautiful garden with a breathtaking view of the sunset over the mountains.

  2. Day 2: Nisargadhama
    40 minutes (29 km) from Madikeri

    Start your day by driving to Nisargadhama, an island formed by the river Kaveri. The island is home to various wildlife and bamboo groves, which makes for a unique and relaxing experience. Afternoon, head to the Dubare Elephant Camp and participate in various elephant activities like bathing and feeding them. Finally, visit the Namdroling Monastery, also known as the Golden Temple, and witness the beautiful architecture and the daily life of monks.

Coorg is a beautiful place with many other attractions like the Tadiyandamol Peak, Iruppu Falls, and Talacauvery. If you have an extra day, consider visiting these places as well.
