3-Day Adventure Itinerary in Kodaikanal in July 2023

  1. Day 1: Coakers Walk
10 minutes (1.5 km) from Kodaikanal Lake

Get your adventure started with a morning walk along the Coakers Walk, a one-kilometer paved pedestrian path that offers breathtaking views of the hills, valleys, and the town. The path is situated at an elevation of 7,000 feet above sea level, and the panoramic view of the surrounding scenery is worth the effort. In the afternoon, head to the Dolphin's Nose, a flat rock protruding over a breathtaking deep valley. End your day with a visit to the Bear Shola Falls, a peaceful and scenic waterfall that is best known for its bear-shaped cavern.

  2. Day 2: Berijam Lake
1 hour 15 minutes (23.6 km) from Coakers Walk

Start your day early and drive to Berijam Lake, a stunning reservoir that provides drinking water to the town of Kodaikanal. You will need to get a permit from the forest department to visit the lake, so make sure to get it beforehand. The area is surrounded by beautiful forests, and it's an ideal destination for nature lovers and adventure seekers. You can spend your day exploring the lake by boat or trekking around the area. In the evening, head back to the town and visit the Kurinji Andavar Temple, a beautiful shrine surrounded by beautiful nature and scenic views.

  3. Day 3: Guna Caves and Pillar Rocks
25 minutes (8.4 km) from Kurinji Andavar Temple

Start your day with a visit to the Guna Caves, also known as Devil's Kitchen. The caves are formed between two large Pillar Rocks, and it's believed that the Pandavas used them during their exile. The caves are dark and narrow, so make sure to carry a torch. In the afternoon, visit the Pillar Rocks, a set of three giant rock pillars that stand 400 feet tall. End your day with a visit to the Bryant Park, a botanical garden that features a range of flowers, plants, and trees.
