Two Days Itinerary for Wayanad in July 2023

  1. Day 1: Edakkal Caves
21 minutes (8.2 km) from Kalpetta

The Edakkal Caves are a prehistoric site located on top of a hill. The site contains ancient petroglyphs that date back to the Neolithic era. The caves are accessible via a steep hike, but the view from the top is worth the effort. The morning is the best time to visit as it can get crowded later in the day. Afternoon, you can have lunch at the nearby restaurant and visit the nearby Jain Temple. In the evening, head to the Soochipara Waterfalls for a refreshing swim.

  2. Day 2: Banasura Sagar Dam
1 hour 10 minutes (34.6 km) from Edakkal Caves

Banasura Sagar Dam is India's largest earthen dam. The dam is surrounded by lush green hills and offers a panoramic view of the area. In the morning, you can visit the dam and enjoy boating or trekking around the area. In the afternoon, visit the nearby Meenmutty Waterfalls. The falls are a three-tiered waterfall that has a total height of 300 meters. In the evening, head to the Lakkidi View Point for a beautiful sunset view.

Recommendations
