3-Day South Goa Foodie Itinerary in July 2023

  1. Day 1: Margao Market
30 minutes (10.5 km) from Dabolim Airport

Morning: Visit Margao Market, a vibrant local market that offers an exotic range of fresh produce, seafood, spices, and homemade sweets. The market has been serving the locals for more than a century and is a perfect place to start your foodie adventure. Try some Goan sausage and bebinca, a traditional Goan dessert.

Afternoon: Head to Fisherman's Wharf in Salcette, a seafood restaurant that offers a stunning view of the river. Try their tandoori prawns and lobster thermidor.

Evening: End your day with a relaxed dinner at Martin's Corner in Betalbatim. The restaurant offers authentic Goan cuisine and seafood. Try their fish curry and sorpotel, a spicy pork dish.

  2. Day 2: Dudhsagar Plantation and Tambdi Surla Temple
1 hour 20 minutes (60 km) from Betalbatim

Morning: Drive to Dudhsagar Plantation, a spice plantation that offers a guided tour of the farm. You will get to see a wide range of spices such as cardamom, vanilla, cinnamon, and nutmeg. The tour also includes a traditional Goan breakfast made from the produce of the plantation.

Afternoon: On your way back, stop at The Verandah at The Leela Goa in Cavelossim. The restaurant offers a range of cuisines, but their Goan thali is a must-try. It includes rice, fish curry, xacuti, aloo gobi, salad, pickle, and papad.

Evening: Head to Tambdi Surla Temple, an ancient Shiva temple hidden in the forest. The temple is more than 900 years old and is a beautiful example of Kadamba-Yadava architecture. There are no restaurants nearby, so carry some snacks with you.

  3. Day 3: Palolem Beach
40 minutes (25 km) from Tambdi Surla Temple

Morning: Start your day with some breakfast at Dropadi in Chaudi. The restaurant offers a range of breakfast options, but their poi and bhaji is a must-try.

Afternoon: Head to Palolem Beach, a picturesque crescent-shaped beach fringed with coconut palms. There are plenty of beach shacks that offer a range of seafood and Goan cuisine. Try some kingfish, prawn curry, and feni, a traditional Goan drink.

Evening: End your day with some cocktails and dinner at The Fisherman's Wharf in Mobor. The restaurant offers a range of cocktails, but their feni cocktails are unique. Try their grilled fish and calamari.
