Discovering Kodaikanal in August 2023 - 2-day Itinerary

  1. Day 1: Coaker's Walk
10 minutes (2.3 km) from Kodaikanal Lake

Coaker's Walk is a pedestrian path that runs along the edge of steep slopes and offers beautiful views of the hills and valleys around. You can start your morning with a peaceful stroll, enjoy the sunrise and breathe in the fresh mountain air. In the afternoon, visit the Kodaikanal Solar Observatory located nearby. It has a collection of telescopes, one of which dates back to the 19th century. In the evening, take a stroll in Bryant Park, which is home to a variety of plants and flowers, and a glasshouse that showcases exotic plants from around the world.

  2. Day 2: Pillar Rocks
    22 minutes (8.2 km) from Coaker's Walk

Pillar Rocks are a set of three giant rock pillars standing tall at a height of 400 feet. The rocks are surrounded by lush green vegetation, and the view from the top is breathtaking. In the afternoon, head to Bear Shola Falls. It is a serene waterfall, and its name comes from the fact that bears used to drink water from it. You can have a quick dip in the water and enjoy the scenic surroundings. In the evening, go to the Kodaikanal Lake and enjoy the sunset. Take a boat ride, and if you're lucky, you might spot some rare species of birds.
