Kodaikanal 3-Day Itinerary

  1. Day 1: Coaker's Walk
    5 minutes (0.6 miles) from Kodaikanal Lake

    In the morning, take a stroll along the Coaker's Walk, a scenic promenade offering stunning views of the surrounding hills and valleys. Enjoy the cool breeze and the lush greenery surrounding you. In the afternoon, visit the nearby Kodaikanal Solar Observatory, home to the oldest functioning astronomical telescope in India. In the evening, head to the Bryant Park, a botanical garden with a wide variety of flowers, hybrids and grafts.

  2. Day 2: Pillar Rocks
    25 minutes (8.3 miles) from Day 1's last location

    In the morning, visit the Pillar Rocks, a set of three giant rock pillars standing tall amidst the verdant valley. Take a short trek to the viewpoint and gaze at the panoramic view of the valley and clouds below. In the afternoon, head to the Bear Shola Falls, a serene waterfall surrounded by forests, named after a bear that used to visit there to drink water. In the evening, visit the Kurinji Andavar Temple, dedicated to Lord Murugan and witness the beautiful flower show held in the temple premises.

  3. Day 3: Berijam Lake
    1 hour 20 minutes (24.6 miles) from Day 2's last location

    In the morning, take a trip to the Berijam Lake, a serene and picturesque reservoir surrounded by lush forests. Enjoy the scenic drive to the lake and indulge in some nature photography. In the afternoon, visit the nearby Mannavanur Lake, a pristine and secluded lake with a peaceful atmosphere. In the evening, head back to the city and visit the Chettiar Park, a small yet beautiful park with a variety of colorful flowers and a statue of Tamil poet Subramania Bharathi.

Recommendations

If you have more time, you can visit the Pine Forest, a serene forest with towering pine trees, or the Guna Caves, a set of mysterious caves with hidden chambers. You can also take a day trip to the nearby Palani Murugan Temple or the Kumbakkarai Falls.
