2-Day Itinerary for Gokarna in July 2023

  1. Day 1: Explore Gokarna Beaches
    10 minutes (1.3 miles) from Gokarna Bus Stand

    In the morning, visit the famous Kudle Beach. Take a dip in the sea and enjoy the beautiful view from the hilltop. For lunch, try some local seafood at Namaste Cafe or Dolphin Bay. In the afternoon, head to the Om Beach, the most popular of all the Gokarna beaches. The beach is shaped like the Hindu symbol 'Om' and is perfect for swimming and surfing. For dinner, try the rooftop restaurant at Namaste Cafe or the Sunset Cafe at Om Beach.

  2. Day 2: Explore Gokarna Temples
    20 minutes (2.7 miles) from Kudle Beach

    In the morning, visit the Mahabaleshwar Temple, one of the most important Shiva temples in South India. The temple is known for its 1500-year-old linga. After lunch, head to the Ganpati Temple, dedicated to Lord Ganesha. The temple is located on the way to the Mirjan Fort and is known for its architecture. In the evening, visit the Bhadrakali Temple, located on a hill overlooking the town. The temple is dedicated to the goddess Bhadrakali and offers a stunning view of the sunset.

Recommendations

If you have time, take a day trip to the nearby Yana Caves, known for their unique rock formations. You can also go on a trek to the Vibhuti Falls or the Mirjan Fort. To maximize your fun, try some local street food, such as chaat and vada pav.
