Three-Day Family-Friendly North Goa Itinerary in July 2023

  1. Day 1: Explore the Old Goa
    30 minutes (8.5 miles) from Mandrem Beach
    Morning

    Begin your day by visiting the Basilica of Bom Jesus, a UNESCO World Heritage site and one of the oldest churches in India. Marvel at the stunning architecture and the fascinating history of the church. Next, head to the Se Cathedral, the largest church in Asia, which is dedicated to Saint Catherine of Alexandria. Afterward, take a stroll through the beautiful gardens of Fontainhas, the Latin Quarter of Goa. Walk along the narrow streets and admire the colorful Portuguese-style houses.

    Afternoon

    Refuel with some traditional Goan cuisine at Viva Panjim restaurant. Try their famous fish curry rice or the pork vindaloo. After lunch, head to the Museum of Christian Art, located in the Convent of Santa Monica. The museum has a great collection of paintings, sculptures, and textiles from the Portuguese era.

    Evening

    End your day by visiting the famous Fort Aguada, situated on a hilltop overlooking the Arabian Sea. Enjoy the breathtaking sunset views and take a few memorable photographs.

  2. Day 2: Beach Day
    20 minutes (6.5 miles) from Old Goa
    Morning

    After breakfast, head to Baga Beach, one of the most popular beaches in Goa. Take a dip in the warm waters of the Arabian Sea and soak up the sun. You can also enjoy parasailing, water skiing, and banana boat rides.

    Afternoon

    For lunch, head to Britto's, a beachfront restaurant that serves delicious seafood. Afterward, visit the Anjuna Flea Market, which is famous for its handicrafts, jewelry, clothes, and souvenirs.

    Evening

    End your day by visiting the Sinquerim Beach and watch the sunset. You can also visit the Aguada Lighthouse, which is located nearby and offers stunning views of the sea and the surrounding areas.

  3. Day 3: Dudhsagar Waterfalls and Spice Plantations
    1 hour 30 minutes (44.5 miles) from Baga Beach
    Morning

    Start your day early and head to the Dudhsagar Waterfalls, one of the tallest waterfalls in India. Enjoy the beautiful scenery and take a dip in the cool waters. You can also go for a short hike in the nearby Bhagwan Mahavir Wildlife Sanctuary.

    Afternoon

    For lunch, head to the Sahakari Spice Farm and Restaurant, which offers a traditional Goan buffet along with guided tours of the spice plantation. Learn about the different spices and herbs used in Goan cuisine and enjoy the natural beauty.

    Evening

    End your day by visiting the Mangueshi Temple, one of the most important Hindu temples in Goa. The temple is located in the picturesque village of Priol and has a rich history and architecture.

Recommendations

If you have more time, you can visit the Salim Ali Bird Sanctuary, the Reis Magos Fort, or the Museum of Goa. You can also take a day trip to the nearby town of Panaji or the beautiful beaches of South Goa. To maximize your fun, try some water sports or take a dolphin-watching tour.
