Three Days in South Goa on a Shoestring Budget - July 2023

  1. Day 1: Explore the beaches of South Goa

    Start your day at Palolem Beach, known for its crescent shape and calm waters, perfect for swimming and sunbathing. For lunch, head to the nearby village of Agonda for some fresh seafood at one of the many beach shacks.     Start your day at the stunning Basilica of Bom Jesus, a UNESCO World Heritage Site and one of the oldest churches in India. Next, head to the nearby Se Cathedral, another impressive example of Portuguese architecture. For lunch, try the local speciality, fish curry and rice, at Martin's Corner. In the afternoon, visit the Goa Chitra Museum, which showcases the state's rich history and culture through art, artefacts, and photographs. End your day with a sunset river cruise on the Mandovi River, which includes live music and local snacks.

  3. Day 3: Nature and Wildlife
    1 hour 15 minutes (60 km) from Mandovi River Cruise

    Start your day with a visit to the Cotigao Wildlife Sanctuary, where you can spot a variety of animals such as deer, monkeys, and birds, as well as admire the lush greenery and waterfalls. Next, head to the Dudhsagar Falls, one of the tallest waterfalls in India, and take a dip in the cool waters. For lunch, stop at the nearby spice plantation, Sahakari, for a guided tour and traditional Goan meal. End your day at the Salim Ali Bird Sanctuary, where you can see a wide variety of both resident and migratory birds.
