3-Day Itinerary for Wayanad in August 2023

  1. Day 1: Edakkal Caves
    20 minutes (6.5 km) from Sulthan Bathery

    Start your morning with a visit to Edakkal Caves. These natural caves are famous for their ancient rock paintings. Spend some time exploring the caves and learning about their historical significance. For lunch, head to the nearby restaurant Nalanda, which serves delicious South Indian cuisine. In the afternoon, head to the nearby Soochipara Waterfalls for a refreshing dip in the cool water. End your day with a visit to the Banasura Sagar Dam and enjoy the sunset over the beautiful reservoir.

  2. Day 2: Wayanad Wildlife Sanctuary
